Every week we count the bath remodel ads running on Facebook and Instagram across the US. This page is what those ads promise, what a "free estimate" is, and how to get a written price without a salesman in your kitchen for three hours.
We counted 3,225 live ads from 118 bath remodel companies on 4 September 2026. Here is what they offer.
| The offer in the ad | Companies, of 118 |
|---|---|
| A free consultation, estimate or quote | 97 |
| A dollar amount off | 50 |
| A one-day install | 31 |
| A percentage off | 14 |
| Financing, no interest or no payments | 14 |
| A lifetime warranty | 13 |
| "Looking for 150 homeowners in your county" | 4 |
Almost every ad promises something free. Only 7 of the 118 companies let you pick a time from the ad. The other 111 ask for your number and call you back. The button on 78 of them says "Learn more". You tap it, and a form appears.
The offers move fast. Half of the ads you see are under 11 days old. One in four has run for more than 38 days. The oldest has run for 257 days without a change. A discount that says "this week only" is often the same discount as last month, with a new date.
A free estimate is an in-home sales visit. A salesperson comes to your house. They measure, they show samples, and they give you a price. That part is fine. The part to know about is how the price is given.
We read 1,209 posts and comments from homeowners about these visits. 164 of them describe pressure. Every one of those 164 describes walking away. Here is what they wrote, in their own words.
"The salesman who was at my house started with a quote of about $8,200, which he lowered to somewhere around $5,400 if I would sign at that moment. A few days later, their inside sales rep emails me with a quote of $4,530."

"If you sign today we can offer 15% discount right now. I told them that I don't do deals like that where I have to decide on the spot. I will not be going ahead regardless."

"He wouldn't provide me a copy of his estimate."

Notice what wins in these stories. The company that measured the house, gave one price, and left it in writing. Same price range, no games. That company got the job.
The numbers are public. Franchise companies file them every year. Take the biggest bath remodel franchise, Re-Bath, in its 2026 filing across 122 locations.
Now you can see the visit from the other side of the table. The company has already spent real money to be in your bathroom. The salesperson's first number has room in it. The "sign today" discount is there to close the sale before you compare. None of that is a reason to walk away from a good company. It is a reason to get the price in writing and take your time.
One more number from the same filing. The best location sells to 46 of every 100 people it visits. The worst sells to 3. Same product, same price list, same training. The difference is how they treat you in your home.
Say this on the phone before anyone comes out. Say it again when they arrive.
"I want a written estimate, left with me, good for 30 days. No same-day discount, and I won't sign at the visit."
A good company says yes without a pause. Some will say the price is only good today. That tells you what you need to know. A price that is real today is real next week.
Then get two more written prices the same way. Three written numbers for the same job, each good for 30 days, is the whole trick. Nobody can pressure you when you have three sheets of paper on the table.
Pick three companies. Ask the first question above on the phone. Book the ones that say yes. Get three written prices, good for 30 days. Then decide at your own kitchen table, with nobody in the room.
Every number on this page comes from a count, not a guess. The ads: 118 companies and 3,225 live ads, counted from Meta's public ad library on 4 September 2026. The homeowners: 1,209 posts and comments read in August 2026. The filing: Re-Bath's 2026 franchise disclosure. How the count is made is public, and so are the corrections.
