Ten minutes, five checks, and the trade's number for each

Last month's ads cost you money. You do not know which half worked, and neither does the person running them.

We count every bath company advertising on Meta in America every week. On 14 September 2026 that was 216 companies running 4,389 live ads. We also read the picture on each one and opened the page each one links to.

So for the first time you can check your own account against your trade in ten minutes. Open Ads Manager on one screen and this on the other.

1. How many ads are you running?

Set the date to today and filter to active. Count them.

The median independent bath company runs 18. The median page under a franchise system runs 6. One independent runs 350.

What it means. Under 6 and you are not giving Meta enough to choose between. Meta learns by comparing. One ad is not a test, it is a guess you left running.

2. How old are they?

Add the column for when each ad started. Sort oldest first.

Half the ads live in your trade today are under 17 days old. A quarter are past 48. One in ten is past 93.

What it means. Two failures look the same on this screen. An ad running 200 days because it works, and an ad running 200 days because nobody opened the account. Look at the oldest three and say out loud which one yours is.

3. What button is on them?

Look at the call to action on each live ad.

"Learn more" is on 61% of everything live in the trade. 174 of 216 companies use it. 11 companies use "Book now" anywhere at all.

What it means. Learn more sends a homeowner off to read. She is on her phone at nine at night and she has four tabs open. The button decides whether she leaves you or picks a time.

4. Where does the click land?

Tap your own ad on your own phone, on mobile data. Not office wifi. Count the seconds out loud.

This week we opened every page in the trade. 44 companies send the click back to Facebook and never leave it. Of the 178 real pages, 176 take longer than three seconds, the median takes 6.2, and four let a homeowner pick a day and a time.

What it means. You paid for that click before the page started loading. Every second after that you are paying to watch her leave. And if she cannot choose a time, she waits for your call while she fills in the next three forms.

5. Can she understand it with the sound off, and does it carry a price?

Mute your own ad and watch the first two seconds.

85% of the pictures in your trade can be read with no sound. 25% carry a price or a discount, and those ads have a median life of 18 days against 28 for everything else.

What it means. A promotion has an end date, so the ad has an end date. A quarter of what your trade runs has to be rebuilt every three weeks, and you pay for the rebuild whether the offer moved or not.

What to fix first

Do them in this order, because each one wastes the money the one before it spent.

If this is true of your accountFix it
The click never leaves FacebookFirst
Your page takes over 5 seconds on a phoneSecond
She cannot pick a time anywhereThird
You run under 6 live adsFourth
Your oldest ads are old because nobody lookedFifth

Fixing the creative while the page takes seven seconds is repainting a car with no wheels.

The number none of these five gives you

Every check above is about the ad. None of them tells you what an estimate that actually happened cost you.

That is the number we exist for. Your ad books a real time on your calendar, your customer gets reminded, your office marks what happened, and each ad is judged on the visits that happened rather than the forms filled in. The next two clients run for thirty days with no fee at all, because we want the named case study more than a fee we have not earned yet.

One bath remodeler per metro, because what we learn on your account goes into the next one.

What this does not tell you

Every trade number above is one week, counted on 14 September 2026, from Meta's public library. It is not spend and it is not results, because nobody outside a company can see those.

Your market and your starting point are different from the median. The checks are the same.

Do this before the week is out

Run the five checks. Write the five answers on one piece of paper. Then fix the top one on the list above.

If you would rather have your own row done for you, send us your Facebook page. Within a day a person sends back what you are running, the button on it, whether your page can hold a time, and your offer next to your trade's this week. Free, and we name your company to nobody.

How the money works

  • The next two clients are free for thirty days. No setup fee, no retainer, no contract. We want the case study more than a fee we have not earned yet, and we say so.
  • Your ad spend stays on your card, in your ad account. We never touch it, and we never own your account, your page or your number. It runs alongside whatever is working, never instead of it.
  • One bath remodeler per metro. Stop on any day and keep the booking page, the number and everything it collected.
